Hermetic Magicians use the pentacle to symbolize the five points of the body protected by the cosmos. The five points denote the five element; ether, air, fire, water and earth, as well as the five physical senses and the number five. The pentacle is the symbol of the ancient Goddess Kore; "the inner soul of Mother Earth." Cut open Eve's apple and reveal the star of knowledge! Every apple has a Kore. Often referred to as the seal of Solomon, the pentagram was supposedly inscribed on his magical ring, to represent the secret name of God. In its totality, 1+2+3+4+5=15, it represents the Baphoment, and has the power to use or misuse natural forces. 15=1+5=6, and he who is wise will know that the number of man is six. The three levels of human life, physical, mental and spiritual equal 666=6+6+6=18=1+8=9 the highest of all numbers and the number of creation. |
